Call the same number 650-603-9213 after obtaining your PPR to coordinate your actual (approximate) arrival time with Moffett Base operations. Please arrive shortly after 9:00 am to be present for the 9:30 briefing in the flight Operations Building lobby. Fly to NUQ and call the control tower on 119.55 and say you are a EAA (EAA N238AC or whatever) flight and give your call sign. For the remainder of the time you are at NUQ use your normal call sign. ![]() Contact NUQ ground on 121.85 for taxi back to the Young Eagle parking area. When in the EAA parking area follow the EAA ground personnel in orange vests. Parking rows will be perpendicular to the runways with nose of the aircraft pointing northwest and into the prevailing wind. There will be 8 airplanes per row and as many rows as necessary. There may be as many as 6 rows (see below) Walk out the gate on the southwest side to the registration table and fill out the bottom half of a registration form with all data and sign it. The bottom of this form needs to be completely filled one time. However, you must sign the bottom of the registration form of each Young Eagle you will fly. With an escort you and your YE passengers can walk out to your airplane. No Young Eagles are allowed beyond the gate-to-the–aircraft-parking-area without an escort. Load your airplane and when ready and with clearance from the EAA ground handler startup and follow the handler’s directions. Taxi to the exit point of the EAA parking area and contact NUQ ground on 121.85 for taxi to runway 32L via taxiway A. Contact NUQ tower on 119.55 when first in line for takeoff. Use your normal number (without the N) and say in addition to ready for takeoff your direction of flight. Notes: 1 Hold Harmless Document http://www.regathon.com/flydays/HoldHarmless.doc I have filled in the date 08:30am Saturday June 27, 2009 and 03:30pm Notes: 2. Certificate of Insurance and DD2240 http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/infomgt/forms/eforms/dd2400.pdf for Civil Aircraft Certificate of Insurance form DD Form 2400. Call your insurance company and ask them for a certificate of insurance with NASA-AMES Research Center as an additional insured as respects the EAA62 Young Eagle Rally on Saturday 27 June 2009. and have a completed copy of it sent to you. Send both forms directly to me and I'll get it to NASA-AMES. DD Form 2400 includes a waiver for AMES (makes AMES an additional insured) as part of the document. If you use another type certificate make sure it includes a waiver for AMES. Your insurance company may use ACORD another company which issues a certificate of insurance also. Ensure that it includes the words “NASA-AMES Research Center is hereby named as an additional insured” or words similar. General Notes: As an EAA member pilots participating in the Young Eagles program are eligible for an additional $1 million of passenger liability insurance coverage if they carry a minimum of $100,000 per seat liability insurance. This coverage is automatically in place when flying Young Eagles; there are no additional forms to complete. In addition to these requirements you must also meet the current Federal Air Rules (FARs) for the pilot certificate you hold. . There will be no fuel at Moffett. Fuel can be obtained at Palo Alto airport. Planes will be parked in rows of 8 wing tip to wing tip with a safe distance between. If you feel necessary bring your own wheel chocks or use the hand brake in your airplane. Rows to taxi into/out of the space will be 60 feet wide. Airplanes entering the parking area after landing and exiting Rwy32L at taxiway B will taxi down a 75 foot wide taxiway (West Parallel Taxiway) and turn right into a row to park. Planes departing will start up and pull forward, turn right, and turn right again (West Parallel Taxiway) to taxi to the edge of the EAA controlled area and contact NUQ ground on 121.85 for taxi to taxiway A/Rwy32L or the run up area if so desired. The run up area is located in the southwest corner of the pad area just south of the entrance to taxiway A. Hopefully this not be needed as a run up was accomplished prior to leaving your home airport, but if necessary do it. Local emergencies 650-604-5555 (cell phone to 911 isn’t effective but land line to 911 is) Flight time: Keep to 10 to 15 minutes long. Unfortunately Moffett Field has no food facilities, so everybody needs to bring their own lunch. Bottled water will be provided for pilots.
